Considered the finest mineral museum in the southeastern United States, the William Weinman Mineral Museum features a variety of interactive "hands-on" exhibits. The museum contains gems, minerals, and fossils from Georgia and around the world. Inside highlights include a simulated mine tunnel and waterfall, a Triceratops skull replica, a collection of international minerals, and much more. Outside, historical mining equipment is displayed and gold panning and fossil hunting are available for an additional fee. The gift shop houses a variety of souviners from jewelry to teaching aides. Programs for school and scout groups are also available.
